The Path to Christmas

My husband made this for our church for the celebration of the birth of our Savior.

The church created a beautiful path to Christmas with trees, lights, a live nativity scene, angels, carolers and a live crucifixion. Which is all the story of Jesus's life here on earth.

I have given birth to five children of my own. I could not imagine riding a donkey for a long distance with a womb full of  baby about to give birth. Could you imagine the pain and exhaustion you would feel? You look at your spouse to say "It is time!" and he then tries to find a place for you to give birth for the first time, without a Dr. or family to assist and "No room for you at the inn!!" Only to then direct you to a barn full of animals, lying in hay! The thought of lying in hay makes me itchy.

My only conclusion is Mary was a wonderful women, assisted by angels and in true belief that she was in fact giving birth to a Savior of the World. How else would you survive the above scene?!

But the angel said to them " Do not be afraid. I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is Christ the Lord. This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger." Luke 2: 11-12

Merry Christmas!
